My name is Russell and I recently became a new dad to a beautiful baby boy. After discussion with my wife, we have decided that the best thing for our family is for me to leave my career as a teacher and to be a stay at home dad. I love games and want to be informed about the family friendliness of the games I play so I can help my child grow up with a healthy relationship to gaming. My favorite game of all time is the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time followed closely by God of War (2018) and Rocket League.

          I am starting this blog because I love the videogame hobby and the artistry that can be displayed through the medium. I want to review games from the perspective of a new parent and how to balance life as a parent with this hobby that can take a lot of time and money. My reviews will discuss a game’s artistry and merit in and of themselves but my reviews will also discuss the features in the games that help parents to maintain both the hobby and their priorities to family. My reviews will also cover the family friendliness of games, because what we expose to our children can influence their development. My blog will also have open discussions about life as a parent and how we have decided to build healthy boundaries, specifically with things like media.

           Because I want to be authentic, my Christian faith, personal tastes, and preferences will affect the choices of the games I play and review. I plan on playing a variety of older titles that I missed and new ones that come out that I am interested in. This means that my reviews may not come out in a timeframe that keeps up with the zeitgeist. But I am excited about where this will go and thank you for reading this and supporting me going forward.
